Fact Sheet

Bill Hedrick as Qob

I’ve been interested in special effects makeup since grade school, when I got a copy of Dick Smith’s Monster Makeup Handbook. I couldn’t do a lot of what was in there, but I wore it out reading it. Later I was blessed to go to a high school with a college level theater program and I learned a lot of my stage craft there from Mr. Joncas, a makeup man for the local TV station. When I started working with a high school, doing makeup for them, I got a copy of Richard Corson’s Stage Makeup, an invaluable guide to all things makeup related. I did my first latex head at that time, turning a young girl into Miss Piggy. Though I am largely self-taught, I took some classes with the head of makeup from the San Francisco Opera company.

My interest in making prosthetics started when I became interested in Klingons and decided to make my own Klingon forehead. Casting your own face is an adventure.
Now some 16+ years later, I’ve done scores of Klingon foreheads, Cardassian, Mimbari, Andorrian, and many other makeups. I do all of the Klingon foreheads for the “Klingon Christmas Carol,” an annual production by Commedia Beauregard (www.cbtheatre.org) and have an IMDB credit for “To Be or Not to Be, Klingons and Shakespeare”

I have won numerous Masquerade awards through the years and want to help you win,
or simply look great!
